Salty’s Still in the Myrtle Beach Bathroom
Jarrod Saltalamacchia, drafted by the Braves with the 36th pick in the 2003 draft, spent his 20-year-old summer in Myrtle Beach. He played 129 games, hitting .314 with 19 homers and 81 RBI. And his baby-face is immortalized in the restroom near the press box on the suite level.
Acquired by the Red Sox in 2010, Salty has proven to be a very capable catcher in the post-Varitek era. He also has let his locks loose as a freespirited vet!
Perhaps Blake Swihart, the 21-year-old who currently owns a tightly-cropped hairdo, will explore his stylistic options down the road like Saltalamacchia has.
